  • Born Feb. 22, 1892 and Died Oct. 1950. She was 58 years old.
  • Grew up in Rockland, Miane.
  • Mother Cora Lounella was a nurse and her father Henry Tolman Millay was a school teacher.
Education And Influence
  • 1917 she graduated from Vassar, which is a private coeducational liberal arts college but originally it was a all girls school.
  • The works of William Shakespear and John Milton along with her mother got her into poetry.
Her Work
  • Most of her work was sad, it was about suicide and being lonely.
  • Millays most famous work has to be Renascence.
Interesting Facts
  • She wanted to be a guy. Being a girl in her time period was not fun. Women were to stay home and have babies. Even though she got married to a man, she also had relationships with women including Wynne Matthison
  • She died by fall down her steps, and breaking her neck.
